Samsung Galaxy Z Flip Hands-on: Razr who?


The Galaxy Z Flip from Samsung is a new foldable phone from the company that created the Galaxy Fold, a device that received mixed reviews, to put it charitably, and raised questions about the viability of folding phones. The Z Flip is a new concept that flips the fold from vertical to horizontal, a trick we've already seen from Motorola with their revived Razr, which changes the devices dimensions from a mini-tablet to something that more closely resembles a classic flip phone. The big advancement of the Z Flip is it manages to do this while still using a glass screen, a huge advantage over the plasticy displays of the Razr and the Galaxy Fold. This makes the Z Flip much more pleasant to use, and it's a powerful device, with a Snapdragon 855 and 8GB of RAM, but questions remain about its durability. How will that glass and hinge hold up to hundreds of folds? We'll have to get our hands on a review unit to find out, but for now, consider us impressed.
